Meridian Begins Roofing Replacement On Hillsborough Armory And Two Other Buildings
Monday, August 29, 2011
Meridian Construction has started work on the demolition and replacement of roofing on three buildings in Concord and Hillsborough. The first is the Hillsborough Armory, where an EPDM replacement is scheduled. EPDM stands for ethylene propylene diene Monomer, a type of synthetic rubber used in radiators, hosing, tubing, and electrical insulation. In this case, it will be used as roofing membrane, given its excellent weather resistant properties.
The second building under construction is Building C in Concord, also scheduled to receive an EPDM replacement. Building C’s Business Wing will also require chimney demolition. Building B is the third building under construction, also in Concord. Its roofing material is scheduled to be replaced with slate. Other work to the building includes electrical renovations, finish work, structural improvements to a historical post and beam, as well as additional miscellaneous work depending on plans during the process. New HVAC units will be installed on the buildings.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-October.
